Ali Turhan holds a Doctor of Medicine andDoctor of Sciences degrees. He is a Professor of Hematology at the Faculty ofMedicine from at Paris Saclay University. After completing his InternalMedicine training in Paris, he moved to Canada where he completed a MedicalOncology training in British Columbia Cancer Center followed by a PhD thesis atthe Terry Fox Laboratory in Vancouver, Canada, a distinguished center in thefield of stem cells. Upon his return to France, he successively held thepositions of Associate Professor in Hematology (Necker Hospital), Director ofcell therapy program at Gustave Roussy Cancer Institute and the Chairman of theHematology Department of University Paris Saclay Hospitals.
As an expert in malignant hematology, he wasinvestigator in several clinical trials in and served as consultant in bigpharmas such as Novartis, BMS, Abbvie and Gilead. His expertise extends tocancer modeling via the use of induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (iPSCs). Currently he is the Director of the Inserm Unit U1310 co-investigator atCITHERA within the INGESTEM Infrastructure.
In his capacity as an international clinicalleader in oncology and hematology, he brings a unique blend of clinical andresearch acumen to the field of cancer stem cells (CSCs) in oncology and incancer clinical trials.
